Ellis Home Remodeling Specialist ("Ellis," "we," "us" or "our") is a home remodeling and repair contractor based in Louisville, Kentucky. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through ellishomeremodeling.com and our online 3D Design Studio (together, the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you request an estimate or contact us, we collect what you enter: your name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, project type, budget, timeline, notes and your preferred next step.
If you send us a design from the 3D Design Studio, we receive the design settings, the preliminary price range shown to you and a preview image.
When you become a customer, we also keep the job address, project details, estimates, invoices and payment records. We do not store full credit card numbers on this Site.
We keep records of calls, texts and emails between you and our team.
Information collected automatically
Our website host (Wix), the analytics tools it provides and our marketing software provider (HubSpot) may collect technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and the site that referred you. Some of this uses cookies. You can choose which optional cookies to allow in the cookie banner.
When you browse the Site and your cookie choices allow analytics, we get a real-time notice of the visit through our service providers (Cloudflare and Wix). It shows your IP address, your approximate location based on it (such as city and region), the page you are viewing, your device and browser type and the site that referred you. Wix keeps a record of each notice in our account. We use these notices only to know when people are looking at our services. We do not sell them or use them for advertising.
When your cookie choices allow advertising, the Site also loads a pixel from our streaming-TV advertising provider (Vibe). It records the pages you view and whether you sent us a request, with technical details such as your IP address and browser type, but not your name or contact details. We use it to measure our ads and to show them to people who have visited the Site.
Our site also counts events such as "opened the 3D studio" or "viewed an estimate" to improve the Site. These counts do not include your name or contact details.
The 3D Design Studio, AI Visualizer and photos
Designs you save without signing in stay in your browser on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
If you add a photo of your home or yard as a backdrop, it stays on your device. It is not sent to us unless you choose to include it with a request.
Where the AI design assistant is available, what you type, and a photo if you choose to attach one, is sent to an AI service provider to create a reply. Please do not include sensitive personal information in those messages.
In the AI Visualizer, a photo you choose stays on your device until you send the request form. When you send it, your name, email address, phone number if you give one, ZIP code and design choices are sent to us through our website form provider (Wix). Your design choices, and your photo if you added one, also go to our visualizer service, hosted by Cloudflare, which uses an AI image service (Cloudflare Workers AI) to draw your concept and show it to you on the page. We keep the photo and the pictures with your request for 90 days. Your design is also saved in your browser so you can come back to it. If you email us a photo instead, we use it to create your concept, which may involve an AI image service, and we keep it with your request.
How we use information
- To respond to your request, prepare estimates and schedule site visits
- To perform the work you hire us for, order materials, obtain permits and coordinate subcontractors
- To send invoices, collect payment and keep business, tax and warranty records
- To follow up after a job, including asking whether you would leave a review (you can tell us to stop at any time)
- To improve the Site and our services, and to prevent spam and fraud
- To comply with the law
Calls and text messages
When you check the consent box on our forms, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text message or email about your request and project. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts, or tell us by phone or email. Consent is not a condition of hiring us.
We do not use your phone number for unrelated marketing without your consent.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we never share your phone number or contact details with marketers. We share information only as needed to run our business:
- With service providers that work for us, such as website hosting, email, marketing and customer-relationship software, scheduling and business software, payment processors and AI service providers. They may use it only to provide their services to us.
- With subcontractors and suppliers working on your project, for example a delivery or job-site address
- With permit offices, inspectors or other authorities when the work or the law requires it
- If our business is sold or reorganized, with the new owner, who must protect it as this policy describes
Cookies and your choices
You can manage optional cookies through the cookie banner and through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. Browsers' "Do Not Track" signals are not handled in a standard way, so the Site does not respond to them.
How long we keep information
We keep estimate requests and customer records for as long as we need them for the purposes above, including warranty, tax and legal record-keeping. Job and payment records are usually kept for several years. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, and only our team can see customer records. No website or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
You may ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you may opt out of review requests and other follow-up messages. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within 45 days and honor your request as required by the privacy law that applies to you, including Kentucky law.
Children
The Site is meant for adults planning home projects. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Links to other sites
The Site links to other services, such as Google, Trustpilot, HomeAdvisor and our social media pages. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
